Congrats/Memories

Hey Cast/Crew

Looking back on the journey of this show I am so amazed. I remember the day we found out our jobs, it was the day after anderson won the state champ game and I was with meg and kirstyn in some random hotel in massilon. Now, nearly 3ish months later...it's over. From the outstanding moments the actors found on stage in rehearsals, to the crazy caffienated, suger-filled techs, to standing backstage and seeing a group of amazing, hard-working, and talented people take their final bow, it almost brings tears to my eyes. Thanks for all of the memories we shared, whether it was backstage, in rehearsal, at tech, friday's, the cast party, or anywhere else. You guys are awesome, and I'm sad this is over. Congratulations on a great run.

Best of luck with Sound of Music interviews and auditions...I'm excited to work with all of you again!!!

My Favorite Memories

I must say I have a several memories.

First, It's got to be a tech screw up. This one comes at the hands of our pos lighting system mastered by two god-like designers: aaron and drew. The show is coming to an end and drew is running board. He realizes that the board has automatically changed the 95 second cue to .1 seconds (not good). While attempting to fix this error, I called for the cue so Drew dutifully ran the almost instant blackout on stage. Yay!

Next, I enjoyed seeing the audience member (who happened to be a parent of someone in the production) repeatedly texting during the performance.

This same parent (along with a few others) blatantly ingnored my no pictures announcement made at the beginning of the show, taking several candids for the scrapbook!

Congratulations to everyone on an excellent show! I know that it was an amazing experience for me and I loved every second of it. I hope to be working with you again on Sound of Music.
Good Luck on your auditions/interviews!!

Thanks for the memories,

Dan Ruffley

After the Show

It's over. And it was awesome.

I just thought I'd make one last post on the blog. I'll miss this show a lot. If the rest of you want to post some memories or special moments, feel free.

It may be over, but the Mundy family doesn't have to dissipate.

Best of luck to all of you.

Lines Notes 2.8.08

Hi Cast!!

Much better job today. We are closer to where we need to be but not quite. Continue to look over old notes. Now it is just a matter of getting the words down and saying and doing as close as possible to the same thing from here on out for each show. This will increase your confidence and help keep the show moving and allow you to work in some speaking flavor!!

Note which comments are repeats from this week! Thanks to those of you who have put time into this! (It is really obvious as to who worked on lines and who didn’t use the notes!)

Michael: 10: six MONTHS not weeks!

Rose: 14: Mixed up lines about fish from DB. Look at order of these.

Kate: 25: “But the same bubbly, laughing, happy Bernie”

Agnes: 32: “There must be some reason why it overheats”

ALL: 34: Look at this page. The most important thing here is keeping it moving but still
know what you say and when you say it. We lost the first two lines on this page.

Maggie: 35: “In the garden” NOT “at the bend in the lane”— that is earlier. Know which
is which.

Gerry: 37: look at the one-liners with Chrissie. They were out of order and some were incorrect!

Gerry: 38: “Never been busier”

Gerry: 39: look at order of sentences when you talk about the bicycle

Gerry: 40: “Go ahead and mock…” you always forget this.
Look at paragraph beginning w/ “unbelievable” through to “Look! A single magpie!” you’ve had it right before but it was not right today.

Kate: 45: your line “If you knew your prayers…” MUST match Maggie’s on pg. 48 b/c she mimics you. So be esp. careful with the wording on this one.

Kate: 46: “whatever he means by that Maggie.” We miss this one every time

Jack: 48-50: continue to look at wording. Much better that yesterday! Thank you!!

Maggie: 51: “We’re all in the same boat Jack. We’re hoping that….”

Michael: 52: look at wording in monologues. Some have to be specific. It reads better to say the scripted “home” instead of “house”
Watch “left forever” you have been saying “be gone forever” or something and it is not making sense (that was very picky, excellent job on monologues today!!!—best yet!!)

Jack: 57: look where you describe walk #4. this was a little mixed up

Jack: 58: “Perhaps I’ll start next Monday”
You need to make sure you include that Obi is the goddess of the Earth b/c this explains why you pray to her for good crops

Jack: 59: Continue to look at wording for this monologue.

Kate: 61: “This must be kept…”

Chris and Gerry: look at pg. 61. Get it!

Gerry: 62: left out the explosives part
Look at the long paragraph at the bottom of this page. Get it! Some parts were out of order and you skipped a little bit

Chris: 77: “I wonder where Michael’s got to?”

Gerry: 79: “Let’s take off the back and see what’s what”

I am aware that some of these notes are extremely picky and minor. Please do not be offended or annoyed. I am of course not expecting perfection but am trying to give you the tools to deliver your lines in the most effective manner, which is the way that they were written. Now it is up to you to take the last step and use what I have given you to make your speech go from good to superior.

Thank you so much for all of your hard work! Please call me if you have any questions, I’ll be happy to help in any way that I can.

Thanks,

Dan

Lines Notes from Dan Ruffley 2/7 Run-through

Hey Cast:

I'm typing these up for Dan. To get these out in the most organzied way possible, I'll give them to you in this format:

Your Character Name: Page Number: Beginning of line

If there is one of yours there is a vareity of possiblities as to why Dan has it on here, you dropped it, said it out of order, lost a part, switched words, just re-look over all lines listed here, further questions, call me at 5150060 or email me at allisonarnold@fuse.net If we can't figure out, then we will call Dan Ruffley. Try me first please.

Michael: 10: "And even though I was only" and on in the monologue, just look over it.

Rose: 14: "-up to Lough Anna...."

Kate and Rose:14: Look over Austin Morgan section please

Maggie: 25: "That's the very thing"

Jack: 27: Look over this page please

Kate: 28: I couldn't believe my eyes"

Kate, Rose, Chris Agnes: 32: Look over this page, maybe do this a couple times at the line-through

(no name listed) so ALL: 34: Look over this everyone!!

Gerry: 36: "Wow, wow, wow...time go"

Gerry: 37: Mixed up small phrases like lucky man and teriffic, look at these moments please

Gerry: 38: "Unbelieveable...Day before yesterday"

Gerry: 39: "Got a glimpse of him" section, some things left out

ALL: WE SKIPPED PAGE 40-41! Look over this, we need it :)

Maggie, Agnes, Kate: 42: Missed lines at top of page (really look for your cues into this)

Maggie, Aggie, Kate: 43: Dan's note said this was kind of messy, just re-visit this

Kate: 46: "Whatever he means by that Maggie"

Jack: 49: "Never mind, doesn't matter"

Jack: 50: "How, could I have forgotten that"

Kate: 51: "Michael's father was..."

ACT TWO!!!

Michael, Maggie: Review page 55

Jack: 58: "Perhaps I'll start next monday", the gong lines, get words down

Jack and Kate: 60: Missed Gilbert and Sullivan lines again

Gerry: 62: Crossed out kinda on my list, revisit this in general

Gerry and Chris: 63: Radio Lines overall please

Agnes: 66: "She said she fell out of sorts"

Maggie: 68: Mixed up "upper" and "lower"

Maggie: 69: minor things, check this over

Rose: 71: " He calls me his rosebud"

Michael: 72: Look over how Agnes died, this was off

Chris: 77: "I wonder where Micheal.."

Jack 81: look at words in the exchange, Dan's notes say this was very close, just not quite

Michael: 83: "Atmosphere memory", look at this, we lost "And what is so strange...", look from there to the end and like Julia said, find some words as markers in your monologues or "checkpoints" (that was lame wording, I take full blame for that, not Dan, haha)

HEYYYY CAST HERE'S A NOTE FROM YOUR AMAZING PSM DAN RUFFLEY:
Continue to work on yesterday's comments. Lines were better. Make the transition from the right idea to the right words, go over everything. You have a new best friend---your script.

AND HERE'S A NOTE FROM ALLISON (me):

I did the best I could getting his notes down, if in doubt over what line I mean, review the entire page, we have to get these down. Like I said, call/email me with ?'s first and if we can't figure it out, we'll get ahold of Dan. We say much improvement tonight, I am extremely proud of every single one of you, you're amazing!!!!

Get some sleep, and rest up, see you tomorrow!!!
