In cased you missed the email, you will be allowed to see the show as many times as you want for free, but anyone you bring with you must pay. This was Mr. Weddle's idea since you won't be backstage during the show but are still a part of the crew.

First call!! This Saturday from 10-4ish in Titus. Let me know ASAP if you have a conflict! djruffley@yahoo.com

A set painting schedule should be made soon, hopefully on Saturday.

Thanks!!

Thanks so much!
Have a great weekend!!!!

Ps. I'm posting this with Ale Delgado standing behind me and she would like me to give her a shout out because she's awesome because she is the pre-show music irish craziness goddess.

Reminders.

Hello all!

A couple of you have asked me questions about the head shots in the hallway the
last couple days so I wanted to clear things up.

Date: TOMORROW, January 10th

Time: 3:00 (please don't be late, for the photographer's sake!)

Where: I'm assuming men's dressing room. Just come to the auditorium at 3.
Rehearsal starts at 3 and someone there could direct you in the right direction.
Try men's dressing room first.

Wear: A black shirt (doesn't necessarily have to be longed sleeved because the
sleeves won't show anyway.

Who:
Dan Ruffley
Rachel Kuhn
Meg Garttman
Annie Mulcahey
Jeff Heimbrock
Kenzy Williams
John Ketteman
Alix Rosa
****anyone who got braces off since the end the Godspell pictures*****

I cannot stress how much is helps out your directors, the photographer (Mr.
Dauterman), and myself, as I do the programs to show up for these head shots. I
will not be at rehearsal at 3 tomorrow, but I can answer any questions here, on email at allisonarnold@fuse.net until late tonight, or you can call/text me at 5150060. Either Jared Hudson or Lauren Heckman will be helping Mr. Dauterman out.

Thank you so much!!!

Allison Arnold

More Reminders!

Hi Cast/ Crew

Well, to add to my rapidly growing number of blog posts, here are more reminders...

This is officially the FINAL reminder for t-shirt order forms. They are due to me TOMORROW. Rehearsal is from 3-6 tomorrow. If you want a shirt I need your form by the end of rehearsal. I apologize to those of you who have already turned them in for the large amount of emails. Thanks for being on time.

Second, anyone who is getting a head shot on Thursday (if Dancing is your first show this year or if you have had braces off) should wear a black shirt to get their picture taken. Again, if you do not show up at 3, it is your own responsibility to get your headshot.

Finally, tomorrow is the Act 1 run through from 3-6. Actors should be off book. All Designers are called in order to take notes and get to know the show.

Thanks!

2nd Production Meeting Notes

Here are the general notes from the production meeting. I emailed them out as an attachment also. If you did not get this email and would like to, email me at allisonarnold@fuse.net

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dancing at Lughnasa
Second Production Meeting Notes
Friday, January 4th, 2008
3:00-4:30 in the Fine Arts Room

Changes/General
1. Running Crew Roster has undergone a change; current members are Sam Ray and Justin White.
2. Reminder: Assistants to the Director, Assistant Director, PSM, Designers, and ASMs are always called to production meetings. All others are welcome to attend as well.
3. Everyone should be signed on to the blog by now. If there is a problem with this, contact Dan Ruffley. Dan Osborne can also answer questions about the blog.

Set Painting (Rachel Kuhn)
1. Has been researching thoroughly and has a few questions regarding scenic props. Rachel will be contacting Properties Designer, Alex Gartner to collaborate on these ideas.
2. Goal is to be done paining before tech weekend.
3. Mr. Weddle will be communicating Mr. Turner to decide between projection and a painted backdrop. As soon as the decision is made, those whose work is affected will be contacted.
4. Rachel Kuhn is also working on the African masks and will keep us posted on progress.

Set Construction (Brandon Chapman)
1. At today’s meeting, Brandon asked Mr. Weddle and Drew Kemp-Baird specific questions involving set construction, most were resolved although communication will be continued to ensure excellence.
2. Brandon and his crew need fieldstone for their construction. Time will be set up for collected stone to be dropped off at AHS. Dan Ruffley will put this information on the blog and/or email everyone when this information becomes available.
3. Fireplace may be built “up”, almost like a brick-oven pizza oven.
4. The outside walls of the house are most likely going to be done through texturing by the set painting crew.
5. Plywood is okay for the outside of the house and Rachel’s work.
6. The platform should be built by Tuesday, January 8th.
7. The last planned day of set construction is January 26th.
8. Set Construction’s first call is Monday, January 7th from 7:00-9:30. Crew should meet at the scene dock and Dan Ruffley will email/call the crew members.

Properties (Alex Gartner)
1. Designer Alex Gartner was not present; Alli Turner (Assistant Designer) represented crew.
2. Props crew can be accessed through the AHS drama website, or by contacting Alex Gartner.
3. The “Marconi” radio is still needed. Lauren Heckman will be sending Mr. Weddle a picture of the one her family owns. If this is not what we are looking for, Mr. Weddle will contact Mrs. Hartman who will then begin working on finding what we need.
4. Ironing board can be removed from the properties list; we are using the kitchen table.

Lighting (Aaron Rice)
1. Carrie Rowe has lighting notes from blocking rehearsals for Aaron.
2. Aaron will be coordinating his schedule with Mr. Weddle, although Aaron will have to wait until set is almost done to do things such as the general washes.
3. Tech-Weekend will be used to fine-tune all lighting issues.
4. Mr. Weddle and Aaron will be working on improvements and some high tech lighting aspects.
5. Margie Lund has lighting notes from the dancing rehearsal.

Sound: Pre-show (Ale Delgado)
1. Found 7 albums of Celtic punk music and has cut this down to the necessary 30 minutes (9 songs).
2. Ale will be making a CD over the weekend for Mr. Weddle to evaluate.

Sound (Laura Wheeler)
1. Laura was not present, so Ale and Brandon represented sound.
2. Carrie has sound notes for Laura, will be given to her ASAP.
3. Brandon- Nextels need to be fixed and can be found in Mr. Weddle’s office, if Mr. Wing cannot fix them, they can be taken somewhere to be repaired. A PO is available if necessary.

Costumes (Kirstyn Blair)
1. Kirstyn has been working on sketches, however some confusion on character personalities. Allison Arnold will be meeting with Kirstyn to discuss character identities.
2. Mic packs should have spandex, fabric that works well with sweating and the top must be open for wires.
3. Footwear choices need to be a high priority so the cast members can get used to dancing in whatever shoes are chosen.

Make-Up and Hair (Jenny Abraham)
1. No one was present from this crew, although it was reported that Jenny has begun sketches, but is having some trouble with research. Jenny’s assistant designer, Meg Garttman has a book, that has many different techniques in it, so these two should be collaborating and working together.
2. Daniel Lees and Lauren Reenan will not be aged for the show.

Video (Alli Turner)
1. Should have a rough cut by Monday, January 7th.
2. Still discussing what program will be used.

Final Notes
1. Continue checking blog and email.

New Schedule for Lughnasa

Hi Cast and Crew:

Here is the plan for the next few days. If anyone has conflicts with these changes, please let me know immediately and I will get that to Mr. Weddle. I already know Dan H. you are excused from A Capella on Tuesday.

--Thursday is as scheduled. The dance rehearsal is rescheduled for Thursday (1-3) evening from 6-9 at the studio.

--Friday is as scheduled.

--Monday is going to be what we were going to do today (Wednesday).

--Tuesday is an added rehearsal and is going to be the Act I run through. 3:00-6:00.

Also a reminder that t-shirt/hoodie forms are due on Monday. I sit in the drama circle next to rm. 203 in the mornings, my homeroom is 205, or you can give it to me at rehearsal.

Crew: the next meeting is this Friday the 4th from 3-4:30 in the fine arts room. Desingers and heads only are called. Mr. Weddle expects designers to have ideas with their plans and be able to report on progress.

Designers: You are also called when we do the run through of Act I on Tuesday.

Thanks!!
Dan

Rehearsal-- January 2nd

Happy Snow Day Everyone!

Rehearsal is canceled along with the Dance Rehearsal tonight. Mr. Weddle's policy is that when school is called, everything else is also canceled unless extremely important. Thursday and Friday are tentatively remaining as scheduled. Today's rehearsal will be done Monday the 7th, and a run through of Act I will be on Tuesday, 1-8. (Previously, there was no rehearsal on this date.) He thinks that we can have the space @ 3:15 on Tuesday. The dance rehearsal will have to be sometime in the near future, possibly this Saturday. He is working on this and I will let you know as soon as something is decided.

Thanks!!

Dan

Welcome back!

Hello All,

I hope you all had a relaxing break and enjoyed the time with your friends and family.

I also hope that you all took some time to work on Lughnasa. Actors with lines, Laban, character and plot issues, and accent work. Did you drive your family crazy with the Irish? Did the Welsh drive you crazy? I hope so and not, to Dan and Jared. Designers with your music, set, lights, etc?

Now that we are back in school mode, we really need to focus and get down to work on this play. Please look at your schedules and get ready for all the hours that are necessary. The dance nights are going to be long and, again, I appologize but it was the only way to work around everyones schedules. We have a production meeting this Friday, so designers I need to see your work and your progress. If you have nothing to share, then you need to get to work. You should have started already, so get to it!

I will not be speaking in accent for the rest of the rehearsal period, but you must when speaking your lines. Lauren, Jared, and I will be relentless about your accent work and so should you be. Don't let it be an obstacle, rather allow it to be a vehicle in your acting journey. Also, get those lines down ASAP. You due date to be off-book is the first run through of each act. ACT I-Monday, Jan. 7. ACT II-Wednesday, Jan 16. That is very close, so I hope you have been working.

That is all for now, please blog for help and support. Or the old fashion way of speaking with me.

See you tomorrow afternoon.

Chad Weddle
